COVID-19 Impacts: Visualising Changes in Travel Behaviours
At 56 Degree Insight we are delighted to be partnering with CK Delta, a ‘big data’ analytics company who are part of the same group as the Three mobile phone operator.
Working with CK Delta we have been exploring how the anonymous data generated by mobile phone movements can be used to provide new insights on how people travel, with applications for our clients in the transport, tourism and leisure sectors.
The value of these types of insights have come to the fore in this recent analysis they have undertaken which looks at changing travel patterns in the UK during March, in the weeks preceding the full COVID 19 lockdown.
Watch the short video below to see how the increasingly strong advice on reducing unnecessary travel, working from home and minimising leisure trips impacted on behaviours.
This case study shows only a fragment of how this type of data can be used, let us know if you’d like to receive further updates or see these types of insights for specific locations such as specific tourism destinations, transport corridors or outdoor recreation sites.
